Have you ever been completely drawn to an individual who is passionate about something in their life?  They seem so completely taken over by their interest that you can’t help but be intrigued by them?  What is it that they have discovered that makes them so completely taken with a hobby, career or cause?

As I have gotten older, my choice in the people I tend to surround myself with has changed dramatically.  I seem to be drawn to people who have left drama behind and are most interested in self-improvement and going after their dreams.  Whenever I meet someone who speaks passionately of an interest that seems to completely flood their brain, I am instantly drawn in.

There is so much more to life than going to work, raising a family and paying bills. When someone truly realizes that they only get one opportunity to live their life right, and they go after everything that means the world to them, it is simply magical.

Have you ever met someone who was willing to put fear aside, ignore the advice of others and pursue something that meant the world to them?  Something you could just tell filled their soul?  I don’t know why this isn’t more common or what it is about making yourself happy and living a life that is purely authentic that people struggle so hard with.  It’s sad because when you can hone in on what feels best to you individually the amount of happiness you feel, to be able to touch on what you love each day is beyond any other happiness out there.  These are people who glow with enthusiasm.  They feel completely comfortable in their skin and showing that side of themself to the world.  You can almost feel the vibration of their happiness fill the air around them.

It is the ability to live a life that is this authentic that will draw others toward you.  It is like some magical formula that others want desperately in their own life, yet have no idea of how to achieve.

Passion equals attraction.  The more you show who you really are and what makes you feel alive, the more people will flock towards you.

What do you think?  Are you willing to go after what means the most to you?  Can you tune out the noise around you and focus solely on what makes you happiest?  What have you experienced?  Do you know someone who lives their life to the fullest and exudes an immense amount of happiness?  Let me know your thoughts and share your experiences in the comment section below.

  1. I’m finding guides like your blog post that are reminding me to be true and authentic. It’s time for me to actively engage, instead of just being passively impressed with others and following along in their wake. Thanks for the inspiration - your energy comes through strong and clear in your blog, website, and the genuine way you connect with people. I hope to inspire others as well, when I make my own path!

  2. Much like Havenga, my life too has been consumed over the past few years by my passion, which is my blog and what it entails - cooking, wine, art and storytelling. It has become a large part of my life but in a positive way. Hopefully people can see how passionate I am about it and are therefore drawn to it. You can definitely tell, Wendy, with your blog your sense of passion and who you really are through what you write. 🙂

  3. Wendy: You have concisely summarized what I have been feeling for the past two years. My Writing, Nature Photography, and especially my Poetry, absolutely does fill my soul. Sharing it on my blog gives me great contentment, joy, and hopefully, the opportunity to fill others. I have long admired the passion that your writing displays. Thanks for this fine piece. http://walkwithfathernature.blogspot.com/
