The Top 7 Blogs That Inspire Contest

Inspiration

by Wendy McCance

I love finding incredible blogs to promote.  Sure there is the “Special Offer” page where anyone can submit a link to their blog and get more visibility.  I felt that I needed to offer an opportunity to get even more traffic to your site, so I have come up with a special event.

First, let me explain what I mean by a blog that inspires.  Everyone has that favorite blog that they enjoy because it brightens their day, is full of great ideas or inspires them in one form or another.  These are the blogs that you should think about nominating.

How to Nominate Your Favorite  Blog That Inspires:

  1. Vote for your favorite blog by commenting in the comment section below.
  2. Only one vote per person (only your first vote will be counted).
  3. Please include the web address of the blog.
  4. Explain why you think the blog is worthy of winning this year’s award.
  5. A blog will not be counted as a vote if the information above is not filled in.

To make the cut, a blog must be nominated more than once.

Nominations must be received by May 15, 2013.

The Top 7 Blog Winners Will Receive:

  • Winners will be featured in a special article on the front page of Searching for the Happiness with a description of their blog and a link to their site.
  • Winners will be placed on a blogroll for 3 months to gain more exposure to their site.
  • Winners will also have the opportunity to do a guest post if they are interested.

Winners will be revealed on May 25, 2013.

HINT:  You might want to consider mentioning this contest to the followers on your blog.  Have them stop by at http://searchingforthehappiness.com and vote for your blog.

Good Luck to Everyone!

  1. Hi there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m going to
start my own blog soon but I’m having a difficult time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m
    looking for something unique.
P.S Sorry for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

    • No problem, I’d be happy to pass the information along. I signed up with iPage for the dot com and then used WordPress for the theme. I am a big fan of WordPress and loved that I didn’t need to create my own template. Also, the amount of free plugins available can’t be beat. If you ever have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I’d be happy to help where I can.

    • **Hi WENDY……Thought I would respond to this, I LOVE WORDPRESS!!!……Thanks to Wendy, my first *Little Blog that could* was one of the winners picked for my blog. I HAD SUCH overwhelming requests from many who wanted to follow my Recovery Posts and I didn’t have that option on my Simplesite Blog, so I set up a New Blog Home here at http://catherinelyonaddictedtodimes.wordpress.com AND it has Opened Up a whole New World for me!!!, and of course Wendy helped!! I Vote you use WordPress!! Have a Great Day! Author, Catherine Townsend-Lyon :-)

Her blog on spay/neuter taught me and all my followers more about the importance of why you should have those kitties altered, I always look forward to the post on Zee and Zoey and the photos are fantastic. 8. I would like to nominate Zee & Zoey at :

    http://www.zeezoey.com/blog

Deb Barnes who is the author of this blog; not only writes FROM the heart, she also writes about what is near and dear TO her heart… the cats who share her personal world, as well as the ferals and shelter cats who deserve to share their life with a loving and compassionate person(s) too. Her blog posts have brought to light the sober situation many of the shelter cats and ferals face today. Her blog also mixes it up a bit with humorous posts, pictures and video about the antics her clowder gets into every day. We hope Zee & Zoey are considered for this contest; I enjoy reading Deb’s blog posts….I know others will too

    • Thank you for the nomination, Laura, as well as your insight as to how you interpret my blog. It is so very important to me to try to help make the world a better place for cats, but I want to do it by making the situation as compelling as possible so that it inspires people to help. You are such a dear…

  10. I would like to nominate Zee & Zoey which is written by Deb Barnes. Deb has written some of the most sensitive and thought provoking pieces on educating the public about the plight of feral cats, spay/neutering, along with many other posts that contain her observations about life AND cats. The link is http://www.zeezoey.com/blog . I encourage you to check it out to be inspired and I hope she is one of the winners!

Not only is her blog amazing, but I am blessed to observe her passion and dedication first-hand to so many wonderful causes and to our wonderful feline family of eight! Trust me when I say she is the real deal - she continues to teach and reveal so much in me that I never knew existed. The blog is http://www.zeezoey.com/blog

      • Dan, you above all have nurtured me when I needed it most so that I could believe in myself. As a result, I have now been able to find my inner strength and passion, which is to help animals and inspire others to do so as well. Thank you for being my partner in life. xoxox

  11. I nominate Gina Quarles @ http://www.ginaquarles.com after her auto accident, my wife could not do much while in a halo and a broken leg. She did what she could and wrote, set up a blog, while healing herself, she was healing others with her stories and words of inspiration. Her book will out this summer of her story of survival. I am very proud of my wife.

  12. There are so may great blogs out there that I cannot choose just one without hurting someone else’s feelings. I have my own blog at http://lorrainemariereguly.wordpress.com and don’t want to nominate myself, as this is a new blog (only a few months old), so I guess I will just say good luck to everyone nominated! I am entering a contest, too, however, and anyone interested in learning about this can read about it at http://poetryperfected.blogspot.ca
Wendy, it has been a pleasure watching you evolve the last few months. You offer many great tips to your fellow bloggers, and I enjoy popping in here from time to time. I read about 200 blogs, and comment when I can. I have been to many on the list of nominees, too!
Congratulations, everyone, for doing a great job blogging!

  13. 16. I nominate Susan Cooper at findingourwaynow.com. Why? Because her wonderful storytelling via her blog is just like sitting down at the kitchen table with a good friend, a slice of cake and a cup of tea. Plus recipes for good home cooked food too. I always look forward to her new posts

  17. I’d like to nominate Randall St. Germain’s site called “Camino My Way” at http://www.caminomyway.com/. I love his journey and the pictures and stories he tells along the way. I feel like I’m there with him every step of the way and magically transformed to a place in another part of the world.

Randall was curious about the Camino De Santiago pilgrimage several years ago but didn’t know anything about it and talked about it with his mother. When his mother got ill and took a grave turn for the worse she told him to take the trip. He has done this pilgrimage walk in her honor and wrote a book about it “Camino De Santiago in 20 Days”.

To some, around the world, this is a spiritual journey and the walk opens a space within presenting lessons they may have never learned. I have a friend who is preparing her personal journey on this pilgrimage and have shared this site with her. I hope you all will check it out.

      • You’re welcome Wendy and you’re right about the nomoination. I got to thinking about it after I commented that perhaps you weren’t eligible. I have to think about it a little more and come back. :-)

  23. I nominate Susan Cooper’s blog. The URL is http://findingourwaynow.com/. Susan’s blog is inspiring because she has worked hard since it’s beginning to make it grow.
