What Personality Types Are You Attracted To?

I had a job interview today.  One of the questions I was asked was what habits of other people irritate you the most?  It got me thinking about what type of personalities am I attracted to and what type of personalities do I feel most uncomfortable around?

Although I enjoy many different types of personalities (makes life more interesting), I have to say there is one type of personality I always gravitate towards.

I enjoy people who are extremely straight-forward and show no fear in stating their opinions.  I’m not referring to loud-mouth, obnoxious, gotta get their opinion forced down everyone’s throat (and you better agree with them) type people.  I guess a person I could reference would be Bethenny Frankel of The Real Housewives of New York Bravo tv show.  I don’t know if you are familiar with her, but she is that type of person who can blend humor, smarts and the ability to tell it like it is and be loveable and admired.

I am attracted to this fearless type of individual because of the strong confidence and honesty about them.  There is so much you can learn from them.  How to face adversity head on and come out on top, how to have humor at your shortcomings and how to want to take care of those around you like a mother hen.

If I were to describe the type of personality that turns me off the most, it’s the person who lives for drama.  Have you ever known a person who likes to stir up trouble by searching for something that isn’t there?  This type of person gossips, has no problem stabbing you in the back, and is bored unless everyone’s emotions are at an all time high because of a situation this person manipulated into a horrible mess.

I’m curious (what else is new), what types of people are you attracted to and what type of people could you live without.  I love your comments and I hope you comment on this subject.  It should be interesting to see what a variety of people admire and dislike in others.

  1. Lovely post. I like the straight talkers. I also enjoy spending my time with people who don’t live in a bubble. People who are out there doing fun things, keeping fit and healthy. People who actually do care for others, not just pay lip service. I also enjoy spending time with my two year old Grandson!,

  2. Wonderful post! It really made me think about the company I keep and the company I can do without. I have to say the people that attract me the most are sincere, caring, fun individuals. Those that chap my hide are the ones that you mentioned like the drama lovers and those that force you to take their perspective. I can’t stand it when people force their opinions on you and refuse to see things in a different light. Thank you for another marvelous post.

  3. Boy where do I start. So here is my readers digest version.

I agree with you about the “shit stirrer” type person. When I see them coming I make a very quick about face and run for the hills.

The person I am most attached to are spiritually strong, have a very positive outlook, are loyal and accept you for who you are.

    • I’m so glad you commented. I definitely have a few friends who fit in the “good” category. They are so wonderful. They make me feel peaceful and good about myself whenever I’m around them.
